Plans to extend Whitegates Nursing Home in Laleham may have hit the buffers after planning officers recommended they be refused.

Spelthorne Council's planning committee has been advised to reject the proposal to convert a neighbouring cottage into eight rooms as the applicant failed to submit an adequate flood risk assessment.

Reception pupils from Buckland Primary School in Laleham got a taste of life on the farm on Thursday.

Tots will be taking part in a sponsored toddle at Laleham Village Hall on Sunday July 20 from 2pm to raise funds for children's charity Barnados.

Wheeliebin blaze 'suspicious'

Firefighters extinguished a blaze in a wheeliebin in Guildford Street, Laleham, on Sunday at about 3am.

The cause is being treated as suspicious.

Camera club meeting

Laleham Camera Club held a meeting at Newark Priory, Ripley, last Monday.

Pupils from Buckland Primary School, Laleham, pored over books during a visit to Books Etc in Staines on Thursday last week.

Children from Buckland Primary School in Laleham were in a make-believe world when they made their regular visit to Books Etc in Staines.
