Kids raise cash for heroes

Posted by Ed Saunt on Nov 11, 08 05:54 PM in Schools/colleges

Children at Buckland Primary School in Laleham did their bit for the Help for Heroes (H4H) charity with their mufti day on Friday November 7 and raised about £240.

The pupils at the Berryscroft Road School - aged between four and 11 - all wore an item of red clothing to school to correspond with the colour of poppies, the emblem for Remembrance Sunday, and donated £1 each to the charity, which supports service men and women who are wounded during their tour of duty.

Lance Corporal Daniella Telfer, from the Royal Army Medical Corps and is the aunt of two of the pupils at the school, was there to celebrate the day with the children and explain to the children what Remembrance Day is all about.

We'd like to hear from you.
