Parking charges boost

Proposals to introduce parking charges in the free car park in The Broadway, Laleham have been postponed following complaints from the public.

Charges of up to £1.50 were proposed to start this summer but a decision has been delayed while Spelthorne Council reconsiders the plans.

When I read the article about this in the Informer I was surprised that I had not heard about this through the school or playgroup because as a parent I use these facilities everyday.But having spoken to Laleham Playgroup and the school office no one seems to have been informed by the council and therefore were not aware of the proposal until seeing it in the paper.
Surely people that use this faility should be properly infromed to enable them to express any concerns or objections?
