A 10-year-old boy was assaulted in an unprovoked attack while walking with his family near a Staines estate on Saturday (February 20).

The boy was walking his dog with his mother and 13-year-old brother when they were approached by a teenager opposite the Dog and Partridge pub, near the Royal Estate in Kingston Road.

A building which has been burgled six times in under a year was targeted again last week.

Between January Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 a catalytic converter was stolen from an office of Lotus Landscaping, in Kingston Road, Staines.

Since April last year the place has been burgled seven times, where thieves took vehicles and small items.

The police are calling on neighbours to be more aware of anything suspicious and to call them on 0800 125 2222.

Police are looking for thieves who drilled into minibuses in Laleham Road in January.

Between Sunday 17 and Monday 18, minibuses belonging to Staines and Laleham Sport's Association, in Worple Road, were targeted when thieves drilled into fuel tanks to take diesel for the second time in a week.

An Astone Martin owner who lied about his car being stolen has been imprisoned for ten weeks for perverting the course of justice.

Brian Matthews, 28, of Laleham Park, appeared at Kingston Crown Court on Friday January 8 and admitted to perverting the course of justice, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, and driving without insurance.

Police chased a youth through Staines train station on Friday who was reported to have vandalised a train.

Surrey Police were called to the scene at around midnight after it was reported the 11.22pm Waterloo to Weybridge was being vandalised by a group of youths.

A snowballing prank turned into a horror show Wednesday January 6 when a teenage boy was nearly the victim of an attempted robbery.

The 17-year-old victim was walking along in Staines with his brother and friend when he threw a snowball at three men in front.

Four Staines Town supporters were arrested and detained by the Metropolitan police on Wednesday December 9 during the second leg of the FA Cup game with Millwall.

Fans posting on the Staines Town internet forum described seeing a few Staines fans making 'cut throat' gestures to the Millwall fans, before they were approached by the stewards.

A man has been arrested in connection with stealing a Royal British Legion poppy box in Staines

Matthew Bennett, 19, of Bowes Road, was arrested by police on Saturday 14 and charged with two counts of theft, one count of burglary, and a breach of bail conditions.

The poppy charity collection was stolen from Spelthorne Council's offices on Monday November 2.

Bennett was remanded in custody and will appear in court at a later date.

An abandoned car was found in the River Thames on Monday November 23.

Police and firefighters were called to Thames Side at around 8pm after a beige Renault Senic was found in the water near Burway Rowing Club.
